Individual Seafarer Applications

Clear procedures. Structured processing. Consistent administration.

Where a seafarer elects to submit an application directly to the Tanzania Zanzibar International Register of Shipping (TZIRS) without representation by an owner, operator, crewing agency, or authorised agent, the following administrative conditions shall apply.

Processing Surcharge for Direct Submissions

Seafarers submitting applications independently may be subject to an additional USD 100 administrative processing fee. This fee applies to compensate for the extended verification and handling procedures associated with individual submissions.

Verification & Invoicing Procedure

Upon receipt of the application, the Registry will conduct the necessary identity verification and document authentication review.

Following successful preliminary verification, the applicant will receive:

• An official invoice detailing the applicable fees
• Payment instructions for completion of processing

Issuance of requested documentation is contingent upon receipt of full payment.

Payment Methods

Payments may be completed through approved electronic payment channels as specified by the Registry.

Submission Policy

Walk-in submissions are not accepted.

Applications must be transmitted through one of the following approved methods:

• Online submission channels
• Courier services
• Registered or traceable postal services

The Registry’s official mailing addresses and submission instructions are published on the TZIRS website.

Incomplete Application Handling

Applications determined to be incomplete will be retained for a maximum period of ninety (90) days.

Where required documentation or corrections are not provided within this period, the application may be considered withdrawn, and a new submission may be required.

Compliance & Accuracy Responsibility

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all submitted documentation is:

• Complete
• Accurate
• Legible
• Verifiable

Incomplete or inconsistent submissions may result in processing delays or refusal of service.
